Belle de Jour: 'Maison Close [Sky Arts drama on prostitution] looks the business but is all fur coat and no knickers. Great as long as you know that’s what they’re selling. The problem with it is we already know pain to be a majority part of human experience, whether prostitute or not. Where is the art in pointing that out again? Doubtless the makers of Maison Close felt they were saying something important and timely. But what exactly it is, I am not sure.'
