London Art Award nomination David Shrigley: '.. has authored several books, directed music videos for Blur and Bonnie Prince Billy, released spoken word albums, and boasted solo and group exhibitions across the world since 1991.'

Guardian article: “There will be photographs of the interventions that Shrigley has made in the landscape, such as marking a river ‘for sale’, works illustrating his connection to conceptualism as well as a humorous sense of the surreal....and a sculpture called Five Years of Toenail Clippings; which (to one's possible consternation, amusement, ennui, or nausea) consists of, yes, five years of the artist's toenail clippings in a glass sphere.”

David Shrigley is popularly known for his cartoon-work with the Guardian Magazine, but the visual artist will now see the first retrospective of his work open at the Hayward Gallery in February 2012. The exhibition will feature 175 of his pieces, the majority of which will be new or unseen.
