The Independent on Manscaping at the Hammersmith Apollo: “Though the 31 year old was skittish in his structure his whirlwind routines of a neurotic pitch, perfect for the 'Family Guy' generation (‘Self-heckle. Postmodern. Relax’ could end up his catchphrase), were still seductive in their marriage of momentum and mirth. “I've got status – touch my penis!’ went his dispatching of the Rn'B music genre, meanwhile ‘I'm a vampire in my spare time” ran an earlier gag aimed at another extreme of youth culture. A scattergun that hit his targets.”
Russell won the Edinburgh Comedy Award last year, but has been prolific on the Comedy scene since 2004, when he won the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Award. Born in Enfield, Russell now apparently lives with his two cats Keith and Wayne in Westcliff-on-sea. Mr. Kane is also somewhat of a media personality, having been the face of TV channel Five US and presented for ITV2 and BBC Three. Not just a cat-loving, television-screen frequenting comedian, Russell won the 2011 Children in Need edition of Mastermind on his specialist subject, Evelyn Waugh. His debut novel The Humorist will also be published in Spring 2012.
