The Guardian: “They wrote enjoyable new-album tracks like ‘Guggenheim’, first schemed up by White, they say, when she was pissed in the back of a taxi in Ibiza. The result is the intriguing mix of Sounds from Nowheresville; capricious switches between ups and downs, chart-friendly pop and clubbier stuff..."

De Martino and White first bonded up North over a mutual love of Portishead. It has now been four years since their last album; an international success, and catchy to the last with peppy hit That’s Not My Name. In the meantime, they have been working on a new, rockier sound in a Berlin studio for album Nowheresville, and the lead track Hands has been mixed by none other than Mr. Calvin Harris.

The Ting Tings have been giving the big music corporation folk a run for their money it seems, scrapping work on somewhat of an artistic whim, and trying to get down to something good and organic whilst in isolation in a different country. The duo’s semi-rebellious attitude has split public opinion but undeniably, they’re still a real treat live.

Chronicle Live: “With Katie White’s screeching vocals and the superb musical skill of partner Jules de Martino, The Ting Tings ensure their performances are of the highest – and loudest – quality. For me, the highlight was the bone-shaking vociferousness of Hands, which culminated in a deafening show finale. Of course, the band finished with That’s Not My Name. But with this electrifying performance, The Ting Tings proved to their fans they have more up their sleeve. They’re back and better than ever.”
