London TV Award nomination Derren Brown: '.. doesn't seem to be doing anything particularly mind-blowing, but with a few words of encouragement and buzzing noises in the right place, he can make people admit to murders they haven't committed, or even brainwash perfectly normal sods into assassinating Stephen Fry.'

Tellysquawks: "why isn’t Derren Brown King of the whole bloody world? If I had his powers, I certainly wouldn’t be settling for ten o’clock on a Friday night on Channel four: I’d want prime time!"

Derren Brown is either a wonderful entertainer or evil supervillain, it's never really made clear which, but regardless his shows are always jaw dropping. In The Experiments, Brown shows us the dark side of humanity, as he literally experiments on the mind of unwitting civilians. The interesting thing about the series is not that Brown can melt people's minds, we all know that now, it's how easily we the public can be manipulated. Brown doesn't seem to be doing anything particularly mind-blowing, with a few words of encouragement and buzzing noises in the right place, he can make people admit to murders they haven't committed, or even brainwash perfectly normal sods into assassinating Stephen Fry. Each episode has an important message, that compliments the spectacle of the events, making this series thought provoking as well as brain muddling.
